This element is treated by most of the digital organ builders only symbolically.
Luckily, we are not “digital” organ builders. We use the organ chest both for aesthetical and acoustical reasons.
As our complete organ systems use dry sample-sets, (recorded without reverberation inside the organ chest of a source pipe organ), their sound is most natural and realistic as you reproduce it also inside an organ chest.
The organ chest works then as a resonator, making you actually feel our organ as you listen to it.
Organ chest is also a very important design element.
It gives a new form to an organ gallery, as it changes the way that organ gallery is functioning and being seen.
Organ chest also constitutes a fundament for pipe prospect – an element with which it has to correspond.
